UAE Extends Suspension of Flights From India And 13 Other Countries Till July 21

The UAE Govt has further extended the suspension of flights from India and 13 other countries till 21st July 2021.

On June 24th, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of UAE has issued a NOTAM (Notice Issued to Airmen) and said that the flights from India and 13 other countries will remain suspended until 23:59 hrs. of July 21, 2021.

The list of other countries includes Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic Of Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and South Africa.

The GCAA also said that the cargo flights, as well as business and charter flights, would continue to operate.

UAE Eases Travel Restrictions

It is worth mentioning that UAE has eases the travel restrictions and allowed holders of UAE residency visas who are stuck outside the country to return from certain nations if they have received two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine.

After the announcement comes, Emirates the flag carrier of UAE said that it will be resuming the flights between India and UAE from 23rd June.

However, Airlines including Emirates, Air India, and Flydubai have not started accepting bookings from India to Dubai.

Emirates, Air India’s Clarification On Flight Booking

Recently in some social media comments, Air India and Emirates said that they will only accept bookings from July 7 onwards as they had not received any formal communication on operations starting from June 23.

Flight Suspension From India

The UAE has announced the suspension of all flights from India for 10 days starting from April 24 amid the huge surge in COVID-19 cases in India. However, the travel ban which was initially for 10 days, has continued to extend ever since.
