UAE Eases Travel Restrictions For India And 2 Other Countries

In a major relief, Dubai on Saturday allowed holders of UAE residency visas who stuck outside the country to return from certain nations if they have received two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine.

The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai announced new guidelines for passengers arriving from India, South Africa, and Nigeria, effective from Wednesday, June 23.

The updates are part of the Committee’s keenness to protect passengers and ease hassles for them without compromising on COVID-19 precautionary measures put in place to safeguard everyone’s health and wellbeing.

Passengers traveling from India to UAE

  • Entry will be permitted to residents who have received two doses of approved vaccines in the UAE.
  • All travelers are also required to present a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 48 hours before departure; UAE citizens are exempted.
  • Only QR-coded PCR test result certificates are accepted.
  • All passengers must take a rapid PCR test 4 hours prior to the flight departure.
  • All passengers must undergo a PCR test on arrival at Dubai Airport.
  • Passengers should undergo institutional quarantine until they receive their PCR test result, which is expected within 24 hours. UAE citizens and diplomats are exempted.

Passengers traveling from South Africa to UAE

  • Passengers should have received two doses of a vaccine approved by UAE authorities.
  • All travelers are also required to present a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 48 hours before departure; UAE citizens are exempted.
  • All passengers must undergo a PCR test on arrival at Dubai Airport.
  • Transit passengers should comply with entry protocols of final destinations.

Passengers traveling from Nigeria to UAE

  • Passengers required to present a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 48 hours before departure; UAE citizens are exempted.
  • They should present a negative PCR test certificate with a QR code from labs approved by the Nigerian government.
  • All passengers must undergo a PCR test on arrival at Dubai Airport.
  • Transit passengers should comply with entry protocols of final destinations.
