Avoid Overstay Fines: Here’s How to Check Your UAE Visa Status, Validity, Issuance and Expiry Dates

Recently, the UAE announced that individuals who overstay their visas may be required to obtain an Outpass and pay fines for each additional day past the visa expiration date. To avoid such consequences, it is important to keep track of your visa’s expiration date and validity status.

Fortunately, the UAE’s immigration authorities offer convenient online services that allow visa holders to check their visa status quickly and easily.

This service is available for individuals holding a visit or residence visa from any of the following emirates: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.

Check UAE Visa Validity, Issuance and Expiry Dates

To check your visa validity, simply visit the website of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), and follow the provided instructions. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to check your UAE visa validity:

  1. Visit the website: https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/fileValidity
  2. Select whether you want to search for your visa’s validity through file number or passport information.
  3. Choose whether you have a residence visa or a visit visa. If you have a residence visa, select the option ‘residency’. If you have a visit visa, select the option ‘visa’.
  4. Enter one of the following details: Emirates Unified Number (UID number), file number (found on your visa sticker or e-visa), Emirates ID number (if you choose the residency option), or passport number (if you chose the ‘passport information’ option in Step 2).
