As per Mumbai International Airport Ltd spokesperson, “Passengers travelling to/ from the airport during the curfew will be allowed to proceed onwards as cab services and public transportation will remain operational at all time.”
The airport will be open 24/7 and will continue to remain open during the 11 pm to 6 am night curfew as well.
Most international arrivals happen past midnight.
Hence, the passengers booked on late evening or early morning flights need not worry about the night curfew.
But remember, group of five or more persons will be prohibited during the night curfew hours (11 pm to 6 am), and those violating social distancing, mask-wearing, and other pandemic norms will face action, cleared the Mumbai police said on Tuesday.
Vishwas Nangre-Patil, the joint commissioner of police, said Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code covering ban on assembly had been imposed from Tuesday night in an attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Mumbai police spokesperson, DCP Shivaji Rathod, said the order had been issued for “restricting movement and unlawful assembly of five or more persons for prevention of breach of peace, disturbance to public tranquillity and danger to human lives.”
However, the order will not affect the supply of essential goods and services (like milk and vegetables) or impede movement in case of medical emergencies.
