Emirates Extends Suspension of Flights From India Until 31 May


As the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on Tuesday extends the ban on Indian travelers, Emirates the flag carrier of, the United Arab Emirates has also announced the suspension of its flights from India to UAE until 31 May 2021.

The travel ban will be applied to all Indian nationals. Furthermore, passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.

UAE Nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas, and members of diplomatic missions who comply with the revised published COVID‑19 protocols will be exempt from travel.

Emirates in a notification said that it has canceled all flights from India to UAE till 31st May 2021. For rebooking options, please contact Emirates call center or use Emirates Covid waiver policy by using waiver code ‘ROGW006 DUE COVID-19’.


UAE Travel Ban

UAE has announced the restrictions for 10 days starting from 11.59 pm on April 24 but last week the authorities announced that the suspension would stay in place until May 14. Now, the extension announced on Tuesday gave no date for when services would resume.

Who Can Travel To UAE From India?

UAE citizens, diplomatic delegations, official delegations, and flights of businessmen are the categories that are exempted from this restriction.

Also, travelers coming from India through other countries are required to provide proof of a period of stay in those countries of no less than 14 days to be allowed to enter the UAE.

RT-PCR Test Requirement

The Dubai Health Authorities also announced that starting from 22nd April 2021, all passengers traveling from India to Dubai will be required to take a Covid-19 (RT-PCR) test within 48 hours before departure and all tests must be administered by accredited laboratories that issue results carrying a QR code.
