This processing time indicates how long it took us in the past to process most complete applications. If your application is incomplete, it may be delayed or returned.

Your processing time begins when we receive your complete application and ends when we reach a decision. It may vary depending on the number of applications received.

According to IRCC, the processing times will vary based on:

  • the type of application submitted
  • if the application is complete
  • how quickly do we expect to process applications we’ve already received
  • how easily we can verify your information
  • how long do you take to respond to any requests or concerns?
  • other factors

It is important to note that a temporary resident visa, which is also known as a Visitor Visa, is required for foreign nationals to stay in Canada for a short period of time, usually 6 months or less, for a variety of reasons such as tourism, business, and family visits, among others.
