SpiceJet, an Indian low-cost airline on Friday began operations at the newly built Manohar International Airport in Mopa, Goa. The airport is now accessible from major cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.
SpiceJet’s launch of flight services aims to increase air connectivity in the region and make it easier for both domestic and international travellers to access North Goa.

SpiceJet Commences Flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru
SpiceJet has commenced flight services from Mopa Airport to Mumbai and Bengaluru, offering travellers greater convenience and flexibility in their travel plans. The airline operates flight services to Mumbai four days a week and to Bengaluru six days a week.
Multiple Flights under UDAN Scheme Commenced
In addition to the Mumbai and Bengaluru flights, the airline has commenced multiple flights under the government’s regional air connectivity scheme, Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN), on several other routes.
These include;
- Hyderabad-Jharsuguda-Hyderabad
- Hyderabad-Gwalior-Hyderabad
- Jaipur-Amritsar-Jaipur, an
- Amritsar-Patna-Amritsar routes.
“The new (Goa) airport will serve as an important entry point into north Goa for domestic as well as international tourists and travellers. We look forward to adding more flights to the facility in the near future,” says Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer at SpiceJet.
It’s important to mention that several other Indian airlines, such as IndiGo, Go First, Akasa Air and Vistara, have already commenced their flight services to and from the newly opened New Goa Manohar International Airport.
The airport was officially inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 11th. The foundation stone for the airport was laid by the Prime Minister in November 2016.
