The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has launched a digital identity service for the family members of expatriates through its electronic platform Absher Afrad (Absher Individuals).

According to the Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat), the service allows expats to view and use their family members’ digital IDs, as well as keep a copy for reference.

According to the Jawazat, the photo of the digital ID of expatriates’ family members submitted through the Absher Afrad allows its holder to carry it and show it upon request from security officials anywhere in the Kingdom, and the holder does not need to carry a printed version of the ID.

This service is an extension of Jawazat’s digital technical solutions, allowing citizens, expatriates, and visitors to benefit from the Absher platform without having to personally visit its headquarters or branch offices.
