Kuwait’s New Biometric Fingerprinting Requirements for International Visitors

The Kuwait Ports Authority has recently announced a significant measure to enhance security and streamline entry procedures for Gulf nationals and expatriates visiting the country.

According to a report published in Al Anba Daily, all incoming visitors who have not previously undergone biometric fingerprinting will now be required to do so as a mandatory first step before being allowed entry.

Exceptions for Kuwaiti Citizens

Evaluating Flight Density for Efficient Processing

To ensure a smooth implementation of the biometric fingerprinting process, the Kuwait Ports Authority will consider the density of incoming flights at airports.

If the number of flights and arrivals is manageable and the fingerprinting process can be completed within a reasonable timeframe, visitors will be asked to wait for the procedure to be carried out.

However, in cases where flight density is high and time constraints apply, passengers will be allowed to proceed with their journey without undergoing immediate fingerprinting.

The authorities will prioritize conducting fingerprinting for such passengers at a later time to minimize disruptions to their travel plans.

Quick and Seamless Process

According to information from the same source, all ports of entry in Kuwait are now equipped with advanced biometric fingerprint devices. The entire fingerprinting process takes approximately one minute, making it a quick and efficient step for travellers.
