The Ministry of Interior, Kuwait has temporarily suspended the issuance of family residence visas until further notice. The suspension comes as part of the restructuring efforts of Kuwait’s regulatory framework, along with the suspension of family visit visas and tourist visas.
It is worth noting that effective June 28, Kuwait has also imposed a suspension and stopped issuing visit visas including Tourist Visas and Family Visas.
Now, only international travellers who meet the requirements may enter Kuwait with an e-visa, visa-on-arrival, or a valid residence permit.
The Ministry of Interior has not released any additional information about when the suspensions will be lifted.
The decision was made in accordance with Sheikh Ahmed Al-directives Nawaf’s as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
According to the ministry, the decision was also part of an effort to allow the Residency Affairs Department to develop a new system to control and improve the visa-issuance process.
