Kuwait Mandates Practical Skill Tests for Work Permits

In a strategic move aimed at elevating the skill standards of technical workers, Kuwait is set to introduce practical tests as a prerequisite for obtaining work permits.

This initiative, a pivotal component of the professional system project for smart recruitment, is a collaborative effort between the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).

Key Collaboration and Directives

The announcement was made in alignment with the directives of Sheikh Talal Al Khaled, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior. This initiative holds significant importance as it aligns with Kuwait’s national development plan.

PAM disclosed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is currently in preparation with PAAET, anticipating its signing in the early part of next week.

This MoU will establish the groundwork for the implementation of practical and technical tests for skilled workers, making it a mandatory prerequisite for obtaining a work permit.
