In light of the recently announced Amnesty scheme by the Kuwaiti Government, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait has issued another important advisory for Indian nationals residing in the country.

This advisory aims to streamline the process for those who have lost their passports or have expired passports and wish to avail themselves of the benefits of the Amnesty scheme.

Here’s a breakdown of the key points for easier understanding:

For Those Who Lost Their Passports

Indian nationals who have lost their passports and intend to apply for Emergency Certificates to return to India under the Amnesty scheme must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • If you lost your passport and want to return to India under the amnesty, you’ll need an Emergency Certificate (EC).
  • Fill out the EC application form and submit it along with the required documents and fees at any of the three Indian Consular Application Centers (ICAC) managed by BLS International.
  • Tokens for submitting applications between March 21st and April 8th are already booked. During this period, only those with tokens from the Embassy can visit BLS centres.
  • After submitting your application at BLS, visit the Embassy on the next working day (at the specified time provided by BLS) for an interview and to collect your EC.
  • From now on, tokens will only be issued at the BLS centres, not the Embassy.

For Those With Expired Passports

If your passport has expired and you want to stay in Kuwait under the amnesty (by paying a penalty fee), visit a BLS centre.

You’ll need a signed Undertaking from your new sponsor (including their Civil ID), other required documents, and the processing fee.

Passport Reissue Process

For Indian nationals with expired passports who wish to apply for reissue passports to stay in Kuwait under the Amnesty Scheme:

Visit one of the BLS Centers with the prescribed Undertaking signed by the new Sponsor and the new Sponsor’s Civil ID, along with other required documents and fees.
