Kolkata Airport Issues New Guidelines, Makes Covid Test Mandatory For Unvaccinated Passengers: Details Here

Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Monday issues new guidelines for passengers arriving in the States.

As per the new guidelines, all inbound passengers are either fully vaccinated or need to show a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72hrs of flight departure.

The decision came after the West Bengal government asked officials to issue guidelines as the state witnessed a spurt in Covid-19 cases following Dussehra.

“As per guidelines of State Govt, all inbound flight passengers to West Bengal shall have to be either fully (doubly) vaccinated or furnish an RT-PCR negative report for a test conducted within 72 hours of such flight departure,” said Kolkata Airport in a Tweet.

Moreover, as per State Govt directives thrice a week restrictions on flight travels shall be applicable only for cities of Nagpur, Pune & Ahmedabad.

The Kolkata Airport also advises passengers to contact the concerned Airline for further details.

The above instructions are effective from 01 November 2021.

It must be noted that on Sunday the state has reported 914 new infections, 66 less than the previous day’s figure. Out of the new cases, Kolkata recorded the highest with 274, followed by neighboring North 24 Parganas district with 144.
