IndiGo Ranked World’s 6th Largest Carrier By Passenger Traffic: OAG

IndiGo, India’s leading low-cost carrier, has been ranked sixth in terms of passenger volume in the OAG Frequency & Capacity Statistics for March 2022.

According to the research report, IndiGo has carried out more than 2.02 million passengers in the month (as of 28 March 2022), which is the most for any Asian carrier.

Not just that, IndiGo has also been named the world’s fastest-growing airline by OAG, with a 41.3 per cent growth in frequency in the month of March 2022. Furthermore, IndiGo is also ranked among the top ten airlines in the world by seat capacity for the month of March 2022, according to the research.

The OAG Frequency & Capacity Statistics data includes a monthly list of the 20 largest global airlines, as well as statistics on airport and route capacities. IndiGo is the sole Indian carrier on this list.

In addition to the capacity increase in March 2022, IndiGo has recently announced the re-introduction of scheduled operations of more than 150 international flights from various airports in India in April. IndiGo has also added several new routes to its domestic network.
