France Announced New Five-Year Schengen Visa to Indian Alumni

France has unveiled an ambitious plan to foster academic excellence, deepen cultural connections, and enhance long-lasting friendships between India and France.

The announcement was made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Paris, where the French government rolled out the metaphorical “red carpet” for Indian students and alumni.

Five-Year Schengen Circulation Visa for Indian Alumni

Under this pioneering program, France intends to offer a five-year Schengen circulation visa exclusively for Indian alumni. This initiative underscores France’s commitment to nurturing the bonds formed during Indian students’ educational sojourns in France.

“When an Indian student spends even just a semester in France, it creates a connection that ought to be fostered and cherished,” said French ambassador Emmanuel Lenain.

“That is why we are offering this special provision to Indian alumni so that they can keep close links with France and their French counterparts.”

The new programme also includes a number of other initiatives, such as the establishment of specialised programmes to provide comprehensive training in the French language and other academic disciplines.

These programmes will help Indian students to excel in their studies and adapt seamlessly to the French education system.
