Flight Operations At Mumbai Airport Disrupted Due To Cyclone Tauktae

Flight operation at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has been disrupted due to Cyclone Tauktae and the airport has remain shut till 22:00 hrs on Monday, May 17, 2021..

“Passenger Alert! As a precautionary measure for Cyclone Tauktae, the suspension of flight operations has been extended till 22:00 hrs on Monday, May 17, 2021,” the airport authority said in a tweet.

At first, the flight operation at the Mumbai Airport was suspended for 1100-1400 hours which is later extended till 22:00 hrs. of May 17, 2021. The airport has so far witnessed three diversions.

Indian Airlines like Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet have issued a travel advisory on the same:

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 24 teams in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

According to SkyMetWeather, Cyclone Tauktae is now heading towards Gujarat.
