All Flight Operations Suspended At Goa Airport Due To Cyclone Tauktae

All flight operation at the Goa International Airport has been suspended for a day due to Cyclone Tauktae which crossed the state approximately 150 km off the coastline.

“Considering the prevalent weather conditions in, around, enrooted to Goa due, Very severe cyclone “TAUKTAE” all Airlines have cancelled their flight operations to and from Goa for today,” said Goa Airport in a tweet.

After the flight suspension at Goa’s Dabolim Airport, all airlines have issued advisories to their passengers informing them that flights had been cancelled.

IndiGo informing passengers that flights to and from Goa, Belagavi, Hubli, and Kolhapur were impacted. The domestic airline offered a refund or the option to reschedule the tickets.

SpiceJet and Vistara also followed suit and warned their passengers that all departures and arrivals at Goa and their connecting flights were affected. “Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status,” said SpiceJet.

Vistara said that due to the weather disturbance over the Arabian Sea, flights along the West Coast and Chennai would be affected till May 17.

It is worth mentioning that all Indian airlines on Saturday have already issued a travel advisory and said that due to the cyclone Tauktae flight operations to and from many cities are likely to be affected till 17th May.

As per the previous advisory issued, flights operation at Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, and other cities are likely to be impacted.
