  1. Registration: Passengers register on the DigiYatra app using Aadhaar-based validation and capture a self-image.
  2. Boarding Pass Scan: At the airport, scan your bar-coded boarding pass to share your credentials with the airport.
  3. E-Gate Authentication: Walk up to the e-gate, scan your boarding pass, and let the facial recognition system verify your identity and travel document.
  4. Seamless Entry: Upon successful verification, the e-gate opens, granting you access to the airport terminal.

Phased Rollout

Minister Scindia revealed that DigiYatra is set to be introduced in two phases. In the first phase, the facility will be implemented at 14 airports, followed by an additional 11 airports in the second phase in the coming year.

  • Phase 1 (2024): DigiYatra will be implemented at 14 additional airports.
  • Phase 2 (2024): An additional 11 airports will join the DigiYatra network.

By the end of 2024, a total of 38 airports, catering to approximately 95% of domestic air traffic, will be equipped with this cutting-edge technology.

Nationwide Coverage

By the end of 2024, DigiYatra is poised to be available at a total of 38 airports across the country. Currently operational at 13 airports, handling approximately 85% of domestic air passenger traffic, the expansion will cover airports handling about 95% of the nation’s air traffic.
