The US Consulate in Chennai has cancelled all visa appointments for Monday, December 4, citing the impending cyclone’s potential impact.

The Consulate stated that due to Cyclone Michaung, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to northern coastal areas, including Chennai, on December 3 and 4, all consular appointments for December 4 are cancelled.

Consequently, the US Consulate General in Chennai, along with the American Center and EducationUSA office, will remain closed on Monday, December 4.

Applicants with confirmed appointments for December 4 and 5 will be contacted by VFS Global staff through email or call for the rescheduling of their appointments. The rescheduled appointments are slated to take place between December 6 and December 8.
