Air India Announces New International Flights Between India And UK

Flag-carrier Air India has announced new international flights between India and the UK (Chicago, San Francisco, London, and Birmingham).

The airline will operate flights on New Delhi-Chicago and Hyderabad-Chicago sector from January 2021.

Moreover, Air India will operate non-stop flights have between Bengaluru and San Francisco from 09th January 2021, to 28th October 2021, under the air bubble arrangements.

The direct flights between Bengaluru and San Francisco will be Air India’s longest route at 14,000+ km (8,698 miles) and the longest flight to and from India (over 16 hrs).

Air India has also opened the bookings for both routes, tickets can be booked through Air India official website, booking offices, and authorized travel agents.

Apart from this, Air India has also announced additional flights to the United Kingdom from 19th January 2021 to 24th March 2021.

  • Flight from Chennai to London will operate every Wednesday and from London to Chennai every Tuesday.
  • Flights on the Delhi-Amritsar-Birmingham sector will also operate from 11th December 2020 to 27th March 2021.

Scheduled international flights have been suspended in India since March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, special international passenger flights have been operating in India under the Vande Bharat Mission since May and under bilateral air bubble arrangements formed between India and other countries since July.

Till now, India has the air bubble arrangements in place with a total of 23 countries which includes Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Maldives, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates (UAE), United Kingdom (UK) And, United States of America (USA)
