Uttarakhand CM Announces First International Airport In The State At Pantnagar

Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced the construction of an international airport in Pantnagar.

This will be Uttarakhand’s first international airport.

The new international airport will boost tourism in the state as national and international tourists will be able to travel easily.

Tourists will also be able to easily choose international flights to cities such as London, New York, Dubai and Bangkok.

Until now, only small flights have been operated from Pantnagar Airport.

With the opening of the international airport, large passenger aircraft such as Boeing / Airbus can also be operated from there.

Rawat said this will also benefit local merchants in Pantnagar, as they can easily trade their fruits, flowers and vegetables at national and international levels.

The tourism minister said that Pantnagar in the Udham Singh Nagar district is an important Uttarakhand airport in the Kumaon division.

He said that in addition to international flights, flight services for Dehradun, Pithoragarh and other districts will also be launched.

This also shortens the travel time from the hilly areas.

The international airport is built on around 1,100 hectares of land.

In the first phase, the construction of a one-way street is proposed, and in the second phase the expansion will take place.

The airport is to be expanded in two phases. After the second phase, this airport will meet the requirements of regional air traffic for 50 years.

Dilip Jawalkar said the international airport will be equipped with modern facilities that offer spacious parking spaces and ensure that there are maximum facilities for tourists.

The report also suggested that the airport be diverted through PPP or JVC.Mr.

Jawalkar also said that according to the details provided in the report by the Indian airport authority and DM by Uddham Singh Nagar prior to the feasibility survey, Pantnagar University has given the civil aviation department 1072 acres of land to build the greenfield airport in Bareily-Nainital has assigned NH – 37 route free of charge and the proposal is approved by the Ministry.

Cabinet approval is sought for the proposal to transfer 1072 acres of land from the Pantnagar Agricultural University near 37 to the Civil Aviation Department to make it a greenfield airport.
