France Remove All Covid-Related Restrictions For International Travellers

Great news! Travelling to France has become a little easier for international visitors, as beginning August 1, 2022, all visitors will be able to enter France without having to follow any Covid-related entry rules.

This follows the Western European nation’s decision to lift all Covid-19 travel restrictions on visitors from abroad.

As per the updated entry rules, inbound travellers are no longer required to present a sworn declaration stating that they are not infected with Covid-19 and to agree to take an antigen test or biological exam upon arrival in France.

• No need to show proof of vaccination.
• No Proof of recent recovery from Covid-19.
• No Negative RT-PCR Tests.

These revised rules will also apply to travel between France’s mainland and its overseas territories.

Similarly, proof of a compelling reason for travel or a certificate of international travel from the mainland or overseas France to another country is no longer required by French authorities.

Furthermore, they will be able to enter France for any reason without having to provide a compelling reason for the need to enter French territory.

France: Updated Rules For International Travellers

“Faced with the new phase of the pandemic, the border health control system is lifted, in accordance with the law putting an end to the exceptional regimes created to fight against the epidemic linked to COVID-19,” said the Ministry of Interior in a statement.

As a result, as of August 1, 2022, the rules previously applied to travellers to France no longer apply:

• Travellers no longer have to complete any formalities before their arrival in France, in mainland France or overseas, and the presentation of the health pass can no longer be required, regardless of the country or zone of origin;
• No further justification of travel (the “compelling reason”) can be required;
• Travellers no longer have to present a certificate on their honour of non-contamination and a commitment to undergo an antigen test or a biological examination on arrival on the national territory.

The same applies to travel between the metropolis and each of the overseas territories.
