Singapore Eases Entry, Testing Requirements For Vaccinated Travel Lane Passengers Starting Feb 22

The Govt. of Singapore has decided to ease the entry and testing requirements for those who are arriving into the Southeast Asian country through its Vaccinated Travel Lane program starting 22nd Feb 2022.

Notably, the Singapore Govt has offered a few relaxation for Vaccinated Travel Lane passengers which includes RAT (Rapid Antigen Tests) instead of costly RT-PCR tests upon arrival in Singapore. Also, such travelers will no longer require to undergo unsupervised self-administered ARTS on Days 2 to 7 of arrival in Singapore.

Also, any travelers who are holding a Long-Term Pass (excluding Work Permit holders) are no longer required to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP).

This means fully vaccinated Indian traveling to Singapore who effective From 22nd February 2022 on Vaccinated Travel Lane flights from Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai can adhere to the new relaxations mentioned below;

New Guidelines For Vaccinated Travel Lane Passengers

Below are the details of new guidelines issued by Singapore applicable for VTL travelers entering Singapore from 21 Feb 2022, 2359h (SGT).

1. Travel History Requirement Reduced 

• To be eligible for VTL flights, travelers must not have any travel history (including transit) outside of VTL countries/regions, or outside of countries/regions listed as Category I (Macao, Mainland China, and Taiwan) by Singapore’s Ministry of Health in the past 7 days.
  
• If the traveler has been in Singapore within those last 7 days, his/her stay in Singapore can be counted towards fulfilling this 7-day travel history requirement.

2. Easy On Arrival Testing In Singapore

• The on-arrival Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test at the airport will be replaced with a supervised self-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) at a Quick Test Centre (a-C) or Combined Test Centre). to be completed within 24 hours of arrival in Singapore.
  
• The test will cost S$15 (inclusive of GST), with payment to be made at the QTC/CTC through cashless modes, such as Mastercard, NETS, Pay Now and Visa. You will need to bring along your photo identification for verification.
  
• If you have already prepaid for your on-arrival PCR test, you can expect to receive a refund from the Changi Airport Group (CAG) for your unutilized on-arrival PCR test (excluding the S$3 administrative fee) 7 days after the scheduled booking date.

3. VTP Not Required For Long-Term Pass Holders

Long-Term Pass Holders will no longer have to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) to travel to Singapore on a VTL flight. However, a VTP is still required for short-term visitors and work permit holders.

Singapore Airlines Announces Additional Flights To Singapore

Singapore Airlines (SIA), the flagship carrier of Singapore has announced that it will launch additional flights between India And Singapore starting 27th March 2022.

As per the details shared by the airline, it will launch 10 more flights that connect Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Cochin, and Mumbai with Singapore. These flights are non- Vaccinated Travel Lane flights and will be subject to 7-day home quarantine measures/Stay-Home Notice (SHN) in Singapore.

SIA is currently operating a total of 52 flights to Singapore from 8 cities in India, which includes daily, quarantine-free VTL services from Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. The Airline operates non-VTL services from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Kochi.

Moreover, Scoot Airline, SIA’s low-cost subsidiary, operates non-VTL services from Amritsar, Hyderabad, and Tiruchirappalli.
