Singapore Eases Travel Requirements, Issues New Guidelines For Vaccinated Travel Lane

The Govt of Singapore has issued new guidelines for travelers who are planning to travel to Singapore under its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) which comes into effect from 21st February 2022.

In the new guidelines, the Singapore Govt has offered a few relaxations for travelers including RAT (Rapid Antigen Tests) instead of costly RT-PCR tests upon arrival in Singapore. Also, travelers will no longer require to undergo unsupervised self-administered ARTS on Days 2 to 7 of arrival in Singapore.

Not just that, those who are holding a Long-Term Pass (excluding Work Permit holders) are no longer required to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP).

Singapore Change Vaccinated Travel Lane Conditions

Below are the details of new guidelines issued by Singapore applicable for VTL travelers entering Singapore from 21 Feb 2022, 2359h (SGT).

Please be informed that the following measures will be applicable for VTL (Air) travelers entering Singapore from 21 February 2022, 2359hrs (Singapore time):

  • All travelers must have only travelled to / transited via any VTL (Air) countries/regions Category I countries/regions and/or Singapore in the last 7 consecutive days before departing for Singapore, instead of the last 14 consecutive days.
  • The on-arrival Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test at the airport will be replaced with a supervised self-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) at a Quick Test Centre (a-C) or Combined Test Centre). to be completed within 24 hours of arrival in Singapore.
  • The test will cost S$15 (inclusive of GST), with payment to be made at the QTC/CTC through cashless modes, such as Mastercard, NETS, Pay Now and Visa. You will need to bring along your photo identification for verification.
  • If you have already prepaid for your on-arrival PCR test, you can expect to receive a refund from the Changi Airport Group (CAG) for your unutilized on-arrival PCR test (excluding the S$3 administrative fee) 7 days after the scheduled booking date.
  • There will no longer be a need to undergo unsupervised self-administered ARTS on Days 2 to 7 of arrival in Singapore.

If you are entering Singapore before 21 February 2022, 2359hrs (Singapore time), the changes in VTL (Air) conditions do not apply to you. You are required to continue with the existing testing regime (i.e. on-arrival PCR test and unsupervised self-administered ARTS from Days 2 to 7).

Given the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the relevant authorities in Singapore may introduce further measures or requirements to safeguard public health.

This may include additional changes to the conditions and/or cancellation of the VTL (Air) at short notice. Travelers will be notified by email of any additional changes to the conditions and/or cancellation of their Vaccinated Travel Pass.
