Vistara, India’s leading full-service carrier and a joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, has announced the expansion of its codeshare partnership with Lufthansa, one of Europe’s premier airlines.

This development will provide Vistara customers with enhanced connectivity while travelling across Europe.

Notably, as part of this partnership, Lufthansa will add its ‘LH’ designator code to Vistara-operated flights covering 9 Indian cities from New Delhi, including 6 new virtual Lufthansa destinations namely Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, and Pune, and on Vistara flights between Delhi-Mumbai and Bengaluru-Chennai.

Expanded Network Coverage

As a result of this agreement, Vistara’s network will include 12 key European destinations namely:

  1. Amsterdam (AMS)
  2. Stockholm (ARN)
  3. Berlin (BER)
  4. Budapest (BUD)
  5. Copenhagen (CPH)
  6. Rome (FCO)
  7. Hamburg (HAM)
  8. Helsinki (HEL)
  9. Lisbon (LIS)
  10. Munich (MUC)
  11. Oslo (OSL), and
  12. Prague (PRG).

These destinations will now be accessible to Vistara customers, offering them more travel options and convenient connections. Additionally, as part of this partnership, Vistara will add its ‘UK’ designator code to Lufthansa-operated flights covering 12 cities from Frankfurt.

Bilateral Codeshare Agreement

The bilateral codeshare agreement between Vistara and Lufthansa allows both airlines to market and sell flights on each other’s networks. This collaboration ensures seamless travel for customers by providing them with a wider range of choices and smoother connections between India and Europe.

Strengthening the Partnership

Vistara and Lufthansa initiated their codeshare partnership in 2019, which enabled Lufthansa to add its designator code (LH) to Vistara flights to 18 destinations in India. Building upon the success of the initial agreement, both airlines have now deepened their collaboration to further enhance connectivity and customer satisfaction.
