The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced an expansion of myProgress, a service previously known as personalized processing times.

This expansion now includes Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and Form I-131, Application for Travel Document.

Understanding myProgress

myProgress is an online feature that offers applicants access to personalized estimates of their wait times for significant milestones in their Immigration case, including the final decision. These estimates are based on historical data from similar cases.

However, it’s important to note that they do not guarantee speed, cannot account for all unique delays, and may occasionally overestimate or underestimate the actual processing time.

Availability of myProgress

In addition to Form I-765 and Form I-131, myProgress is also available for applicants who file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization; Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card; or Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative.

To view estimated case timelines, applicants must either create a USCIS online account or log into their existing account and select their pending application.

Accessing myProgress

Applicants who have e-filed or linked their applicable forms to their online account using an online access code will find a dedicated myProgress tab for their application. The myProgress tab provides the estimated wait time until a decision is made, and it also includes checkmarks next to three milestones as they are completed:

  1. Confirmation of the application receipt.
  2. Completion of the required biometric services appointment (if applicable).
  3. The final decision on the pending case.

Using Case Processing Times Webpage

While myProgress provides estimated case timelines, it’s important to note that applicants should still visit the public Check Case Processing Times webpage to determine if they are eligible to file an Outside of Normal Processing Times service request. This webpage offers additional information and resources related to case processing times.

By expanding myProgress to include Form I-765 and Form I-131, USCIS aims to provide applicants with enhanced transparency and insights into their case progression, facilitating a smoother and more informed immigration application process.
