Update: RT-PCR, Self-Declaration Required for Passengers Transiting From High-Risk Countries

Important update for passengers flying to India, Delhi Airport on Saturday made a U-turn and stated that passengers transiting from high-risk countries must have a negative RT-PCR test report and fill out the self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal.

Earlier the airport from its official Twitter account said that beginning January 1, passengers transiting from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand will not be required to undergo an RT-PCR test.

Since the Ministry of Health’s guidelines make no mention of transiting passengers, we published an article on behalf of information shared by Delhi Airport, which has now been proven false.

Now, Delhi Airport in a tweet said; “Passengers arriving/transiting from High-Risk countries have to mandatorily do Self-Declaration on Air Suvidha portal and upload a negative RT-PCR report.”

As per the updated information, all passengers arriving/transiting from high-risk countries need to upload a negative RT-PCR test report during self-declaration on the Air Suvidha portal and show it to the airline prior to boarding.
