Entering the Ballot

To apply for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa, applicants need to participate in a ballot. The next ballot is scheduled to open at 1:30 pm India Standard Time on 25 July 2023 and will close at 1:30 pm India Standard Time on 27 July 2023.

Eligible Indian citizens can enter the ballot during this period. The link to enter the ballot will be provided on the official webpage.

Before entering the ballot, applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa.

The required information for ballot entry includes;

  • the applicant’s name
  • date of birth
  • passport details
  • a scan or photo of the passport
  • phone number, and email address

Successful entries will be selected randomly, and applicants will be notified of the results by email within two weeks after the ballot closes.

Participation in the ballot is free of charge. However, applicants should only enter if they genuinely intend to apply for the visa, which incurs a cost of £259, and if they can meet the financial, educational, and other necessary requirements.

A total of 3,000 places are available for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa in 2023. The majority of the places were already allocated during the February ballot, with the remaining spots to be granted in the upcoming July ballot.

Each person is allowed to submit only one entry per ballot; any additional attempts to enter will not be considered.

Successful Entries

Applicants who are successful in the ballot will receive an invitation to apply for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa. Once invited, they will have 30 days from the date of the email to complete the visa application process online, including payment of the visa application fee and immigration health surcharge.

However, if an applicant is successful in the ballot but decides not to proceed with the visa application, there is no obligation to inform the authorities.

Unsuccessful Entries

Unfortunately, the results of the ballot are considered final, and there is no option to appeal if an applicant’s entry is unsuccessful. However, unsuccessful applicants can participate in future ballots to apply for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa.

The India Young Professionals Scheme offers an exciting opportunity for eligible Indian citizens to work in the UK, and the ballot system ensures a fair and transparent selection process for visa applications.
