Hong Kong 14-Day Visit Visa

If you are a citizen of one of the 35 countries or territories and meet the additional requirements, you can visit Hong Kong without a visa for 14 days. Some of these countries include Algeria, Bhutan, Gabon, India, Lesotho, Madagascar, North Macedonia, the Philippines, Russia, and Ukraine.

Pre-Arrival Registration for Indian Nationals

As the list mentioned, Indian nationals can also visit Hong Kong visa-free for 14 days, however, they must complete a pre-arrival registration process. The steps involved in completing the registration are as follows:

  1. Access the form via the following link: ESERVICES2 (immd.gov.hk)
  2. Fill in all information correctly as per your passport.
  3. After submitting the form, you will receive an instant result of your registration.
  4. If your registration is successful, you must print the ‘notification slip for pre-arrival registration for Indian nationals’ (the notification slip) on an A4 size paper.
  5. If your registration is unsuccessful, you will need to apply for an entry visa to the Immigration Department of Hong Kong.
  6. Sign the notification slip.

The printed and signed notification slip should be used in conjunction with your passport when travelling to Hong Kong. The validity of the registration is six months, during which time you can visit Hong Kong multiple times visa-free.

There are several categories of Indian citizens who do not need to undergo pre-arrival registration when visiting Hong Kong. These include:

  1. Holders of a valid Indian diplomatic or official passport.
  2. Holders of United Nations Laissez Passer, who are visiting Hong Kong or transiting via Hong Kong for official United Nations events.
  3. Those who have enrolled successfully for the e-channel service for frequent visitors. Hong Kong 30-Day Visit Visa

If you are from one of 26 countries or territories, you can visit Hong Kong visa-free for 30 days. Some of these countries include Indonesia, Kuwait, Panama, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.

Hong Kong 90-Day Visit Visa

If you are from one of 102 countries or territories and you meet the additional requirements, you can visit Hong Kong visa-free for 90 days.

Some of these countries include Australia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Hog Kong 180-Day Visit for British Citizens

As a British citizen from the United Kingdom, you are allowed to visit Hong Kong without a visa for a maximum of 180 days. This means that you can stay in Hong Kong for up to six months without having to apply for a visa.

Permit for visiting Hong Kong for mainland China passport holders transiting through Hong Kong

If you have a passport from mainland China and are transiting through Hong Kong, you must apply for permission to enter the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

This is required by Article 22(4) of the HKSAR Basic Law.

7-day permit-free transit for mainland China passport holders living in UAE transiting through Hong Kong

If you have a mainland China passport and live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), you can travel to Hong Kong without a permit for seven days. This is only applicable if you are transiting through Hong Kong to a third country or region other than your departure country.

You must have a valid passport and an onward ticket to the country or region you are transiting to from Hong Kong, both of which must be dated within your seven-day stay.

If you are travelling from mainland China to a third country or region, including the UAE, you must have a valid passport, onward tickets to the country or region from Hong Kong that are dated within your seven-day stay, and a valid visa or resident permit.

7-Day Visa-Free Visit for Certain Countries

Citizens of certain countries can also visit Hong Kong for seven days without a visa, according to the Immigration Department of Hong Kong.
