Thailand Fully Open to Foreign Travellers; No Thailand Pass, Insurance Required From July 01

Finally, it is time to wave goodbye to the Thailand Pass and Medical Insurance, which were formerly necessary for international visitors to enter Thailand as starting Today, July 01 the Southeast Asian country has ended most of its Covid-related travel requirements.

Thailand no longer requires registration on the Thailand Pass and has lifted the US$10,000 health insurance requirement, therefore the country is welcoming all travellers with proof of either a certificate of vaccination or a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result.

It is worth mentioning that, as of June 1, the Thai government has already eliminated the Thailand Pass and Medical Insurance requirements for Thai nationals.

Thailand Entry Requirements From July 01

Vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

• A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.
• A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
  • Travellers 5-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.

Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

• A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.

Thailand Ended All Covid-19 Restrictions

Aside from the relaxation of entry requirements, the country has also ended all Covid-19 restrictions and completely open all public/tourist attractions by abolishing colour-coded zoning, redesignating Bangkok and the remaining 76 provinces as green zones.

Although outdoor mask use is voluntary, people are advised to wear one in congested areas such as public transit, markets, and music venues, or for people with specific health problems.

Furthermore, in accordance with existing rules and regulations, as well as communicable disease control criteria, restaurants and eateries are now permitted to provide alcoholic beverages to dine-in customers.

Pubs, bars, and karaoke lounges that have received the Thai Stop COVID 2 Plus certification from the Ministry of Public Health are also authorised to operate in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Group gatherings in congested locations are also allowed, although those with more than 2,000 people must get prior approval from the competent authorities in Bangkok or the other 76 provinces.
