Mumbai International Airport To Remain Closed For 6 Hours On May 10

On May 10, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai will be closed to all flight operations for six hours to perform pre-monsoon maintenance and repairs.

According to an airport official, both runways of Mumbai International Airport, RWYs 14/32 and 09/27, shall be closed for all flight operations on May 10 between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Passenger Advisory

Mumbai International Airport has also issued an advisory for its passengers regarding the same and recommended all travellers to verify their respective airlines’ May 10 flight schedules to avoid any disruptions.

As part of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airports (CSMIA) monsoon contingency plan, both runways – RWY 14/32 & 09/27 will remain non-operational on May 10, 2022, for pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work. The closure will be from 1100 hrs. to 1700 hrs. and a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) has been issued in this regard.

Airport officials also said that a NOTAM had already been sent to all airlines, and that normal operation will resume on the same day when the maintenance work on the two runways was completed at 5 p.m.

CSMIA Passenger Advisory

All operations will resume as usual from May 10, 2022, post 1700 hrs. Passengers are requested to check with their respective airline on their schedule flights for May 10. The runway closure is a yearly practice and contingency plan on the same will help maintain operational continuity and ensure passengers’ safety.
