This move comes as part of amendments to Malawi’s immigration laws, granting citizens from these nations visa-free entry into the country for up to 90 days, whether for business or leisure purposes.

Visa Fee Waiver for US Citizens and More

President Lazarus Chakwera recently announced the waiver of entry visa fees for travellers from the United States and over 75 other countries. This means US citizens, alongside a significant portion of the globe, can now enjoy visa-free entry into Malawi for up to 90 days, perfect for business trips or leisure adventures.

President Chakwera further disclosed his administration’s intention to streamline entry procedures, particularly for visitors from strategic nations such as the United Kingdom, China, Russia, Germany, Australia, Canada, France, and regional blocs like SADC (Southern African Development Community) and Comesa (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa)

Consequently, nationals from 47 countries, spanning continents, are now relieved from visa requirements and associated fees upon entering Malawi.
