IRCTC offers free travel insurance of up to ₹50 lakh on Flight Tickets

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has a piece of good news for you. IRCTC is now offering free travel insurance up to ₹50 lakh when you book your flight tickets from IRCTC official website or mobile application.

The e-ticketing and catering body of Indian Railways has partners with Bharti AXA General Insurance company to offer this unique free travel insurance option along with flight booking on IRCTC.

The free travel insurance will be available for all domestic and international sectors and both one way and round trip. All the customers who booked their flight tickets through the IRCTC official website of the mobile app will be eligible for free travel insurance.

The insurance will cover financial protection against accidental, medical protection and many more so it is always recommended to take a good travel insurance policy when you travel, especially when you travel abroad.

The free travel insurance on IRCTC will offer the maximum coverage of ₹50,00,000 which is provided in case of accidental death, permanent total disablement or permanent partial disablement.

Apart from the accidental death coverage, the travel insurance of IRCTC will also provide coverage up to ₹3,000 for the loss of checked-in baggage in domestic flights and insurance of up to $250 on international flights in case of loss of checked-in baggage.

The other online travel portals like Make My Trip, Goibibo, Yatra, and Clieartrip are generally charges around 250-300 for domestic travel insurance. The aim is to provide a secure and hassle-free travel experience to our customers, said IRCTC.

IRCTC also offers travel insurance of up to 10 lakh on the very nominally price of 49 Paisa, when you booked train tickets on the IRCTC website.
