Inter-State Travel: These States Not Require Negative RT-PCR Test Report For Travel

As the Covid-19 cases in India continue to decline, many Indian states are easing travel restrictions for inter-state travelers.

Earlier, almost every state is required to show negative RT-PCR test reports from travelers from other states. Now a few states are not asking for RT-PCR tests anymore, several others are letting travelers enter, provided they are able to show proof of vaccination.

It may be noted that these rules are also not permanent, and keep change with time. So, we recommend that plan your journey, make sure that you check with all the official guidelines to make sure that you travel at ease.

As of now, these are how some Indian states are welcoming travelers in their regions.

Travel Without Negative RT-PCR Test Report

Delhi: All Delhi-bound passengers from Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are not required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report anymore. Passengers from other states are already exempted to produce negative RT-PCR test for entry.

Himachal Pradesh: Last month the Himachal Pradesh govt has announced that inter-state travelers will not require to show a negative RT-PCR test to enter into the state. However, the state govt has asked hotels to ensure that tourists strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Tourism.

Telangana: Telangana has not require negative RT-PCR test report form travelers from other states. However, test may be require only for symptomatic passengers on the discretion of health officials.

Haryana: Haryana is not require any negative negative COVID-19 test report from travelers. Only thermal screening will be done for all passengers upon arrival in Haryana.

Tamil Nadu: Negative covid-19 test report is not mandatory. Only for symptomatic passengers on the discretion of health officials.
- Coimbatore only All passengers from other states/UTs arriving at Coimbatore Airport are required to carry a COVID negative report from an ICMR approved lab not earlier than 72 hours of arrival.

Karnataka: RT-PCR test not required, however COVID-19 symptomatic passengers may carry a negative RT-PCR test report.
- Only passengers arriving from Kerala and Maharashtra must either carry their RT-PCR negative test report (not older than 72 hrs. prior to departure or their Covid-19 vaccination certificate (with at least one dose).

Andhra Pradesh: COVID-19 test for passengers at the discretion of Health Officials, thermal screening for all departing and arriving passengers.

Travel Without RT-PCR Test, If Received At Least One Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

Punjab, Chandigarh: Traveling to Punjab, Chandigarh regions will need you to carry a COVID vaccination certificate, even if you have received just one dose. Otherwise, you will be required to carry a negative RT-PCR test that was taken no less than 72 hours prior to their departure.

No RT-PCR Test Required For Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Odisha: Passengers need to show their final vaccination certificate to enter. If one don’t have the certificate, they will need a negative RT-PCR or antigen test report that has been taken not earlier than 48 hours prior to their departure.

Rajasthan: All travelers to Rajasthan with a final COVID-19 vaccination certificate, and have completed 28 days after taking their second jab, will not require a negative RT-PCR test to enter.

Chhattisgarh: For travelling to Chhattisgarh passengers need to show a final vaccination certificate or a negative RT-PCR test taken no earlier than 96 hours before departure to enter this region.

Nagaland: All you need to visit Nagaland is to either have a final vaccination certificate or a negative RT-PCR test that has been taken no earlier than 72 hours before departure.

Meghalaya: All those arriving from any state except Delhi, Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and West Bengal shall be exempt from showing COVID test reports if they are able to show their final COVID vaccination certificate.
