Starting from February 1, 2023, IndiGo will be operating a Boeing 777 aircraft on the Delhi-Istanbul route. The airline has inducted its first wide-body aircraft to cater to the increasing demand for travel to and from India.
It is worth noting here that Turkey has become a popular tourist destination post-pandemic and has been one of the top choices for outbound tourism from India in 2022.
Boeing 777 Aircraft

This aircraft will be operated by IndiGo on a “damp lease” arrangement. A damp lease is a type of lease agreement where the lessor provides the aircraft and crew to the lessee, who is responsible for operating the flight.
The Boeing 777 aircraft has a seating capacity of 400 passengers in a dual-class configuration, offering comfortable travel options to those travelling between Delhi and Istanbul.
IndiGo Delhi-Istanbul Flight Schedule
As per the flight schedule shared by IndiGo and Turkish Airlines, the flights from Delhi will depart at 06:45 and reach Istanbul at 11:15. The same aircraft will then return from Istanbul at 20:15 and arrive in Delhi the next day at 04:45 in the morning.
Turkish Flight No. | IndiGo Flight No. | Departure | Dep. Time | Arrival | Arr. Time |
TK 4650 | 6E 0011 | Delhi | 06:45 | Istanbul | 11:15 |
TK 4651 | 6E 0012 | Istanbul | 20:15 | Delhi | 04:45 (+1) |
With this operation Business Class on this Indigo flight is open for sale with a capacity of 28 seats.
Service Standards
It is important to note that since this is an IndiGo-operated flight, the service standards in Business class will vary compared to Turkish Airlines-operated Business Class flights.
Codeshare Considerations
When choosing code-share flights with IndiGo Airlines, customers should be aware that the service offered will be from a company other than Turkish Airlines. Services offered on these flights, such as cabin baggage allowance and catering service, may vary.
Additionally, the flight with IndiGo Airlines may not have internet services, such as free Wifi on board, or inflight entertainment screen service due to infrastructure.
Bottomline
In conclusion, with the addition of the wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, IndiGo is able to cater to the growing demand for travel to and from India, offering comfortable travel options for those visiting popular destinations like Turkey.
