In an exciting development for IndiGo customers, the airline has extended its codeshare agreement with the renowned Australian carrier, Qantas. This enhancement brings with it the opportunity for IndiGo travellers to explore four new vibrant destinations in Australia:
- Sydney
- Melbourne
- Perth, and
- Brisbane
The new codeshare flights will be available for booking through IndiGo’s website and mobile app and will be operated by Qantas. IndiGo customers will be able to earn IndiGo 6E Rewards points on these flights, and will also be eligible for IndiGo’s baggage allowance and other benefits.
Seamless Journeys Unveiled
As part of this expanded collaboration, the codeshare agreement will debut with Melbourne, followed by the launch of services to Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane in the upcoming weeks. IndiGo is committed to providing its customers with a seamless and enriched travel experience, and these additional destinations contribute significantly to achieving that goal.
Gateway through Singapore
IndiGo customers now have the advantage of convenient travel via Singapore, connecting seamlessly to Qantas’ flights between Singapore and Melbourne.
This strategic route alignment not only enhances travel ease but also solidifies the bond between India and Australia, echoing the spirit of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement.
Building on a Successful Partnership
The extension of this codeshare agreement builds upon the successful collaboration between Qantas and IndiGo in 2022. At that time, the partnership enabled Australian travellers on non-stop flights between the nations to access 21 diverse destinations across India through IndiGo’s network.
IndiGo CEO’s Enthusiastic Outlook
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers expressed his enthusiasm for this enhanced collaboration, stating, “We are excited to introduce these new connecting flights to Australia in partnership with Qantas, connecting on IndiGo’s flights from India to Singapore. With this expanded reach, we aim to provide our customers with even more opportunities to explore these iconic Australian cities.”
Promoting Trade and Tourism
Elbers highlighted that this collaboration not only strengthens the bond between the two airlines but also fosters increased opportunities for trade and tourism between India and Australia.
As India’s aviation sector continues to experience robust growth, this agreement aligns seamlessly with IndiGo’s commitment to offering on-time, affordable, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences.
IndiGo’s extended partnership with Qantas marks a significant milestone, opening up new avenues for travel enthusiasts and reinforcing the airline’s dedication to enhancing its customers’ journey.
