IndiGo Announces Flights to Ayodhya Starting January 06

In a strategic move to enhance its domestic reach, IndiGo, the largest budget airline in India, has been actively expanding its network by adding new destinations across the country.

The latest addition to its portfolio is the newly built Ayodhya airport in Uttar Pradesh, making it the airline’s 86th domestic destination and the 118th overall destination in the expansive 6E network.

Inaugural Flight from Delhi to Ayodhya

The airline is set to mark this milestone with the inaugural flight from Delhi Airport to Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya on December 30.

Commencing operations on January 6, 2024, interested travellers can book direct flight tickets for the Delhi-Ayodhya route. IndiGo has proudly positioned itself as the pioneering airline on this particular route.

Newly Added Route Connects Ayodhya with Delhi and Ahmedabad

Initially, IndiGo will establish direct connections between Ayodhya and two major cities, Delhi and Ahmedabad. While the airline has not officially disclosed plans for further expansion of services on this route, industry observers anticipate additional routes to be introduced in the future.

Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm about this recent development. He highlighted the significance of the newly added route, stating that the airline is thrilled to launch operations in Ayodhya, marking it as the 86th domestic destination for IndiGo.

Malhotra confirmed the introduction of new flights connecting Delhi-Ayodhya and Ahmedabad-Ayodhya, positioning Ayodhya prominently on the country’s aviation map.

Malhotra assured travellers of seamless access to Ayodhya, catering not only to pilgrims but also to other tourists, all at affordable prices. This development comes at a crucial time as the Ayodhya Ram Mandir nears completion, scheduled to open its doors to tourists on January 24, 2024.
