Flights From India To UK Resume From January 6: Aviation Minister

The Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday announced the resumption of flights from India to the UK from 6 January 2021.

He said that 30 flights will operate every week. 15 each by Indian & UK carriers. He made the announcement via its Twitter handle.

“Resumption of flights between India & UK:

“India to UK from 6 Jan 2021.

“UK to India from 8 Jan 2021. 

“30 flights will operate every week. 15 each by Indian & UK carriers. 

This schedule is valid till 23 Jan 2021. Further frequency will be determined after review”, he said.

However, according to national carrier Air India, the passengers who had booked their flight on December 23 will get the first flight out.

Earlier, the Govt. announced that flight operations between India and UK will resume from 8th January 2021 and also issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for passengers who will be arriving from the UK after the resumption.

The Civil Aviation Ministry had decided to extend the temporary suspension of flights on December 30 to and from the UK till January 7.

The government had imposed a ban on flights between India and the UK from December 22 because of the new COVID-19 strain that emerged in the UK.
