Flights to Sri Lanka
IndiGo, an Indian low-cost carrier, began flights to Sri Lanka in January 2022. However, due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in March, flight services were quickly suspended.
In the meantime, Air India has reduced flight services between India and Sri Lanka. Due to low demand, flight services were reduced from 16 flights per week to 13 flights per week beginning April 9.
Air India operated a total of 13 flights per week under the new schedule, while the frequency from Chennai remained unchanged. The number of flights from Delhi has been reduced from seven to four per week.
