Glenn Fogel, the CEO of the two parent companies Booking Holdings and Booking.com, is expected to tell Booking.com employees that Covid-19 has hit Booking.com hard.

“In my heart I hoped for a long time that this would not happen,”Fogel said to the employees. “We have worked hard to protect jobs from the start. However, nothing can mitigate the impact of this crisis on the travel industry and our business.”

The company said it expected the downsizing “will match our expectation of the future of travel.”
