AirAsia X to Resume Direct Flights Between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar

AirAsia X (AAX) is set to further extend its medium-haul network with the reintroduction of direct services from Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar, a city in Northern India.

The four times weekly flights, starting from September 3, 2023, will provide travellers with convenient access to a destination brimming with religious significance, tourism attractions, commercial opportunities, and trade prospects.

Enhancing Connectivity: AAX’s Second Destination in India

This new route marks AirAsia X’s second destination in India, following New Delhi. The addition of flights to Amritsar will result in an annual capacity increase of 157,263 seats between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar for AAX passengers.

Expressing his satisfaction with the renewed services, AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail stated;

Ismail further emphasized that the relaunch of this route is part of AirAsia X’s strategy to fortify its position in South Asia while complementing its robust network in North Asia.

He expressed optimism that the reintroduction of the route would not only enrich the airline’s medium-haul offerings with affordable fares but also contribute to overall business growth.

To celebrate the recommencement of flights to Amritsar, AAX has announced attractive promotional offers. Economy seats are available for a one-way all-inclusive fare starting from RM299*, while Premium Flatbed seats can be booked for a one-way all-inclusive fare starting from RM999*.

Additionally, passengers travelling to or from Amritsar will enjoy a 50% discount on check-in baggage when booking between today and July 2, 2023, for travel between September 3, 2023, and March 30, 2024.
