Air India, the Indian full-service carrier owned by Tata Sons, announced on Thursday that it will launch 20 new weekly flights between major Indian cities and Doha, Qatar beginning October 30.

It is worth mentioning here that the FIFA World Cup 2022 football championship will be held in Qatar between November 20 and December 18, this year. This event is expected to increase travel to Qatar, and airlines around the world are preparing to capitalize on the increased demand.

In view of this, Air India will operate these flights to Qatar’s capital Doha from Indian cities including Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai. This will include;

  • 13 weekly flights from Mumbai to Doha

  • 3 weekly flights from Chennai to Doha.

Sharing more information on the additional flights’ Air India said, the Chennai-Doha service will begin on November 10, and the Hyderabad-Doha service will begin on November 11. The flights from Mumbai to Doha will begin in two stages on October 30.

The above-mentioned flights will be in addition to the existing daily flights to Doha from New Delhi.
