Air India Resumes Non-Stop Flights Between Delhi And Vienna

The service enables travellers from India to access several popular destinations around Vienna, including Hungary, The Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France.

Air India, one of the country’s leading airlines owned by Tata Group, has resumed non-stop flights between Delhi and Vienna, Austria’s Music City, beginning February 18th, 2023.

This marks a significant step in the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between India’s major cities and leading global destinations.

According to the airline, the flight, Air India Flight AI153, will depart Delhi on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 1435 Hrs. and arrive in Vienna at 1845 Hrs. (local time).

The flight is operated by an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with a two-class cabin configuration of 18 Business Class seats and 236 Economy Class seats. Air India’s India-Europe frequency has now increased to 69 nonstop flights per week as a result of this service.

Suspension of Flights

Air India suspended flights on the Delhi-Vienna-Delhi route in March 2020 following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the resumption of services, Air India hopes to capitalise on the growing demand for international travel and provide easy connectivity for Indian travellers to several popular destinations in and around Vienna.

Air India’s Commitment

According to Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer, Air India;

“A key element of Air India’s Vihaan.AI transformation is to keep enhancing connectivity between India’s major cities and leading global destinations. Adding this new service to Vienna, following the recent service to Milan, reiterates our commitment to this mission.”

This nonstop service will allow Indian travellers to easily access a number of popular destinations in and around Vienna, including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France.

This non-stop service will also benefit a sizable Indian diaspora in Austria, as well as Europeans planning to visit various cities in the Indian subcontinent or continue on to other cities in South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Far East, and Australia.

Inauguration of the Delhi-Vienna Flight

Air India’s Chief Customer Experience & Global Head of Ground Handling, Rajesh Dogra, was present at the inauguration of the Delhi-Vienna flight on February 18, 2023, along with other senior officials.

Air India intends to provide a seamless travel experience for its passengers and contribute to the growth of international travel with the resumption of nonstop flights between Delhi and Vienna.
