Air India Resume Direct Flights Between Bengaluru And San Francisco

Air India resumed nonstop flights between Bengaluru and San Francisco in the United States on Friday, December 3. The flight will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, according to the airline.

According to the Air India website, the direct flight will depart from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 2:20 p.m. Indian Standard Time (IST) on Friday. On the same day, another flight from San Francisco to Bengaluru will depart at 9 p.m. IST.

In a tweet from the official account, the airline stated, “Air India from Bengaluru to San Francisco, 3x weekly starting 2nd December 2022.” The fare for one trip between Bengaluru and San Francisco starts from Rs. 83,766, excluding taxes, announced by the airlines.

It is worth noting that direct flight services between Bengaluru and San Francisco were suspended approximately 8 months ago due to Covid-19-related travel restrictions and low demand.

The direct flight will cover a distance of 14,000 kilometres, and the airlines will use Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft with seating for 238 passengers. These are also Air India’s longest flights, taking approximately 16-17 hours to travel between the two cities.

Air India’s India-US frequency has increased to 37 nonstop flights per week with the launch of Bengaluru-San Francisco flights.

Air India currently offers nonstop flights from Delhi to New York, Newark, Washington DC, San Francisco, and Chicago, as well as Mumbai to Newark.
