Air India Introduces Upgrade+ Program for Instant Cabin Upgrades

Air India has unveiled its latest offering, the Upgrade+ program, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for its guests. This new program allows passengers with eligible bookings to purchase instant, confirmed upgrades to the front cabins at fixed prices.

With Upgrade+, Air India aims to provide a seamless and convenient way for travellers to enjoy the perks of premium cabins.

Air India Upgrade+ Program

Passengers who are part of the Upgrade+ program can opt for upgrades to premium cabins between 72 hours and 12 hours before their scheduled flight, subject to availability.

Additionally, cabin upgrades can also be purchased at the airline’s airport counters during the check-in process.

How It Works

1. Check Eligibility: Utilize the provided widget on the official website to determine your eligibility for an invitation to the Upgrade+ program.
2. Select Your Upgrade: Choose your desired cabin upgrade, and you can make the upgrade selection up to 12 hours before the scheduled departure time of the eligible flight.
3. Submit Upgrade Offer: Complete the process by entering your credit card details for general verification, reviewing and agreeing to the terms and conditions, and finally submitting your upgrade offer.
4. Confirmation Email: Within just two hours, you will receive a confirmation email containing all the essential details of your upgrade offer for each leg of your flight.

Bid Upgrade Program Discontinued

Air India’s previous ‘Bid Upgrade’ program, where guests could bid for cabin upgrades and wait for up to four hours before departure for upgrade decisions, has been discontinued with the launch of Upgrade+. The new program ensures quicker and confirmed upgrades for eligible passengers.

Upgrade+ grants Air India guests access to a range of benefits in the upgraded cabins, including:

2. Priority check-in at dedicated counters

While passengers can enjoy the amenities of the upgraded cabin, the fare conditions of the original booking will still apply to the upgraded bookings. This includes policies related to cancellation, rebooking fees, and accrual of Flying Returns miles.
