Air India Express to Start New Flight New to Bahrain And Dammam

In an effort to increase its international flight routes, Air India Express will begin two new international services from Kerala’s state capital to the Middle East in the coming two weeks to expand its international route.

On December 1, the airline will begin flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Dammam in Saudi Arabia, and on November 30 from Thiruvananthapuram to Bahrain. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd (TIAL) announced the news in a press release.

Air India Express would be the second airline to operate services between Thiruvananthapuram and Bahrain, following Gulf Air, which operates daily flights between the two cities.

Air India Express will be the first service between Thiruvananthapuram and Dammam.

Flights Between Thiruvananthapuram and Bahrain, Dammam

According to the release, the Thiruvananthapuram-Bahrain flight will depart here at 5.35 PM on Wednesdays and Sundays and arrive there at 8.05 PM (local time). It would leave Bahrain at 9.05 p.m. (local time) and arrive in Thiruvananthapuram at 4.25 a.m.

The flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Dammam would leave at 5.35 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive at 8.25 PM (local time). The flight would leave at 9.25 PM (local time) and arrive here at 5.05 AM, according to the TIAL release.

TIAL stated that Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers would be used for the services, and that booking for both flights has begun.

Air India Express also announced last month the launch of a direct international flight from Vijayawada to Sharjah beginning October 31. The flight took off on October 31 at 06.35 pm, with fares starting at Rs 13,669 for the Vijayawada-Sharjah sector and AED 399 for the Sharjah-Vijayawada sector.
