On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Maharashtra’s state minister Aaditya Thackeray said that the state government is seriously planning to resume all normal local train services in Mumbai by October 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the news was stated by Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Saamana<\/em>, Thackeray said that govt. is efforting to bring the state’s economy back on track, hence, resumption of suburban train services for common citizens is being considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He also said that to reduce road traffic, a proposal is being considered to keep offices and commercial facilities running for 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is difficult to move office hours as there are different types of offices and commercial facilities in Mumbai, the minister said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n He said that the government was in talks with offices, institutions and companies about working hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The government is also in talks with the railways to increase the frequency of these train connections, the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Currently, to curb the spread of Covid-19, local trains are being run only for essential services staff, state and central government staff, employees of nationalized and private banks, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The government is seriously considering starting normal train services for citizens by October 15.
