West Bengal Govt Remove Restrictions On Flights From Delhi, Mumbai And United Kingdom


The Govt of West Bengal on Monday announced that it has removed all restrictions on inbound flights from any location in the country, except Bangalore at Kolkata International Airport.

Now, incoming domestic flights from Bangalore shall be allowed thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Kolkata Airport Remove Restrictions On Flights

The Kolkata Airport in a series of Tweets said, “As per the latest directive from WB Govt, there shall be no restriction on incoming flights from any location in the country, except Bangalore, subject to the condition that passenger is either fully vaccinated or RT-PCR Test is conducted within 72hrs of flight departure.”

It is worth mentioning that at the start of January 2022, amid the sharp surge in Omicron cases in Delhi, Mumbai the WB Govt has restricted the flights to Kolkata from Delhi and Mumbai, flights to Kolkata will be allowed to operate only trice a week– on Monday Wednesday and Friday.

Kolkata Airport Resumes Direct Flights From The UK

As per the directive issued by the WB Govt, the Kolkata International Airport will also be allowed direct incoming flights from the United Kingdom (UK) starting 01st February 2022, which is suspended since 03rd January 2022 amid the rising cases of Omicron variant of Coronavirus.

However, passengers arriving from the United Kingdom will have to undergo an RT-PCR test within 48 hours prior to their departure.

The Kolkata Airport said, “Incoming flights to Kolkata from the United Kingdom are also hereby allowed subject to RT-PCR Test conducted within 48 hours prior to departure and on arrival to Kolkata as per the existing norms. These shall come into effect from 1st February 2022.”
