India’s Full-service carrier, Vistara announced FlyerCODE – a set of simple and important safety protocols for customers for a safe flying experience.
An addition of Vistara’s campaign #FlyingFeelsSafeAgain, the #FlyerCODE is suggested in comeback to its freshly resolved customer survey that discovered 55% of the respondents’ dreaded contact while traveling and anxiety about associated passengers not following health and safety protocols.
Vistara’s “FlyerCODE” wants to encourage customers to be careful, attentive, distant and empathetic on every flight.
“At Vistara, we have put together some extremely stringent preventive measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff, in line with the new regulatory guidelines. Our teams at every touchpoint are ensuring all these compliances every day. However, this is not a battle to fight alone. This needs customers’ participation and effort just as much. FlyerCODE is made up of some very simple steps and considerations, but it’ll have an enormously huge impact in making air travel much safer”, said Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer, Vistara.

Vistara’s ‘FlyerCODE’ initiative seeks to draw customers’ attention to several touchpoints throughout their journey where they can make significant differences by small actions/considerations.
Some of these considerations are:
CAREFUL
- Correct contact details to be provided.
- Be flexible in travel plans.
- Keep your facemask on, throughout the journey.
- Sanitize hands when required.
- Dispose of PPE post the journey only in designated bio-hazard bins placed at the airport terminals
OBSERVANT
- Stay informed about the latest flying/travel regulations and guidelines by the government.
- Please listen carefully to all announcements made.
DISTANCED
- Maintain distance in the Que.
- Follow all social distancing markers wherever placed.
- Please observe the seatbelt signs
- Do not queue up in front of the lavatories
- Avoid non-essential movement in the aircraft
EMPATHETIC
- Spare a thought for your fellow passengers as well as our front-line staff serving you
Vistara strives to maintain the highest standards in terms of safety and hygiene, said the airline.
The airline frequently conducts health checks on its crew members, has significantly reduced the contact between crew and customers, has temporarily withdrawn in-flight meals, on-board sales, reading materials, etc.
With a reinforced spring cleaning process for aircraft, Vistara disinfects and decontaminates all aircraft before each take-off and carries out thorough cleaning every 24 hours.
Powerful, built-in air filter systems in all Vistara aircraft protect against viruses and bacteria and refresh the cabin air every 2-3 minutes.
