According to the airline, the direct services on the Hanoi-Mumbai-Hanoi route will be operated three times per week, while flights from Mumbai to Ho Chi Minh City will be operated four times each week.

“Why wait around? Take out your passports, pack your bags, and experience the charm of Vietnam. Your favourite Vietjet Air is offering great connectivity to the spectacular Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. So, plan a trip now from Mumbai Airport,” said CSMIA in a Tweet.

Moreover, the Mumbai-Phu Quoc service will begin operations on September 9, 2022, with four round trips per week, while the New Delhi-Phu Quoc route would begin operations with three round trips per week.

Vietjet’s direct flights between India and Vietnam are intended to make it easier for travellers to visit the country and connect to key tourist sites such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, and other regional destinations such as Bali, Bangkok, and Singapore.

Zero-fare Tickets

Vietjet has also announced that it has launched an exclusive sale that would give millions of Zero-Fare Tickets throughout its entire international travel network, including six routes from India to Vietnam.

The airline will offer 19,999 super-saver tickets starting at USD 0 on all flights between Vietnam and India between July 1 and December 31, 2022.

Daily promotional tickets are available from 10:30 a.m. on April 7 to 10:30 p.m. on June 9, 2022.

Vietjet Operations In India

It is worth noting that in December 2019, Vietjet began operations in India, connecting New Delhi to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. However, the services were stopped following India’s suspension of commercial international passenger aircraft operations in late March 2020 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Vietjet announced the restart of operations and expansion of its flights between Vietnam and India after the Indian government removed the restriction on scheduled international flights on March 27 of this year.

Vietjet’s Vice President Do Xuan Quang said;

“Following our launch of New Delhi – Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi services, we are delighted to launch two more direct routes between Vietnam and Mumbai. We believe that the two services from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Mumbai, as well as the coming Phu Quoc – Mumbai route, will strengthen the ongoing relationship of Vietnam’s two biggest cities with Mumbai. The services launched between Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi and Mumbai operate four and thrice-weekly flights, respectively. We expect to increase the frequency in the incoming time to meet customer’s demand.”

Commenting on the new services from its airport, a spokesperson of the CSMIA said;

“These services by Vietjet will offer diversified travel destinations and flight schedules and add direct flight options to the Mumbai Airport’s route network from the city to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to further boost travel opportunities between the two countries.”
